Rearing and Placement

Puppies are raised in the home and well-socialized to daily life. For the first few weeks they spend most of their time with their dam just growing and sleeping, and I do handle them daily as well. As they turn from blobs to puppies, their personalities start really emerging beginning at 3-4 weeks old which is when they get to experience new toys, surfaces to walk on, sounds, etc. until they leave for their new homes. I start potty-training them to go in a specific area at 3 weeks. They receive multiple rounds of age-appropriate deworming and their first vaccination and vet check before leaving.

​I do not do intensive intervention in my puppy raising nor do I think it is good to over-stimulate such a sensitive and intelligent breed, and rely on sound genetics as well as socialization from 8-16 weeks in developing a happy, well adjusted puppy.

​I really enjoy raising litters and getting to know each puppy, helping to match them to the best-suited homes. I start deciding who is going where when they are around six weeks old. I do not allow owners to pick their own puppy because while you see glimpses of their personalities as I share them, I see them day-in day-out and can fully evaluate them based on what you have told me you want in a puppy. I am happy to keep favorites in mind.

There is no "pick of the litter", just matching puppies to each of the homes on the waitlist's wants and needs.
