I take Puppy Waitlist Applicants after a litter is announced. I am always happy to talk about the breeding and help you decide if it would be a good fit or if you would like to be considered for future unannounced litters, outside of the puppy application. My goal is to put puppies in homes I think are well-suited to the breeding I am doing.

If you're approved for a litter, once my female is in heat I will reach out to confirm your continued desire to be on the waitlist. When puppies are born I will collect non-refundable deposits for the amount of pups born, and you will move off the waitlist and onto the official Puppy List.

As a working breeder, I always prefer to be able to see how my puppies turn out on livestock to inform future breeding decisions. However, if you are not looking for a working dog, I expect to end up with some sport and/or pet puppy placements in most litters so do not let that dissuade you from applying.

Prospective working homes that have yet to try herding or commit to learning about it hands-on do not go higher on my list than sport homes, simply because I find these homes often end up never taking their puppy to sheep. As far as sport and pet homes go, I am just as happy to sell to someone that just wants a very active and enriched pet border collie as I am to someone that has an extensive national-competitor sports resume. The quality of daily life for my puppies in non-working homes is most important to me.

I am willing to work with sex preferences (although I greatly encourage being open-minded), but I will not hold spots on a waitlist that need a specific coat or color. If aesthetic is a dealbreaker for you and you're a great home otherwise, I am happy for you to reach out and to keep you in mind in case there is availability for the coat/color you specifically want. 

Some litters have more pups than expected or waitlist homes end up not being able to take a pup, but it is too much trouble to cater to this beforehand for what will ultimately be the least important thing about your dog.
